When Dr. Gandhi and his associates at Brandon Cardiology Clinic made the decision to invest in an EHR system, they chose to purchase Aprima from DAS because they felt strongly about the need for local support. “We wanted someone that would come to our office and help our staff learn the system,” says Dr. Gandhi.

The support provided by DAS has extended outside the office walls as Dr. Gandhi has taken advantage of the portability of the Aprima system. “I called one time over the holidays because I wanted to check on a patient from home and they helped me set-up service from my house!” recalls Dr. Gandhi. “When I want to check a record on my patients I can check it from my house, that’s a big help.”

From the ease of documenting conversations to looking at medication lists, Aprima has helped Dr. Gandhi be more efficient in record keeping and taking care of patients. “In this day & age you’ve got to be efficient,” he says.

The ability to customize the system was another reason they purchased the Aprima system from DAS. “Other systems we looked at were generic, cookie-cutter templates,” says Gandhi, “DAS customized everything for our practice and for each individual physician.”

Charting has been customized for the way Dr. Gandhi likes to treat his patients. For example, Dr. Gandhi has tailored his physical exam based on what he wants in his documentation. “It’s made it easier by having set-up questions,” says Dr. Gandhi. “It reminds me to ask more questions than I normally would have to get to the root of patient problems.”

The DAS team took the time to not only to understand the needs of the practice, but also the unique preferences of each physician and then adapted the software per practitioner. “They get things done efficiently. They know our practice and our personal preferences,” says Dr. Gandhi.
