For Dr. Blazejowski, the idea of upgrading to EHR and its accompanying features – patient portals, coordinated messaging, results interfaces - was about more than simply complying with the increasingly complex incentive programs. Working out of two GMS offices in Tampa Bay with separate staff, smarter Health IT processes and infrastructure would help to simplify workflows and communication and ensure nothing got lost, no matter where his time was spent.

He also knew that the technology would only be as good as the partner that they had supporting it, and he recognized something different about DAS early on in the relationship.

“We’re a large group with a lot of personalities, preferences and moving pieces in our business. We quite liked the Aprima software when DAS came to demo our group; it was user-friendly, easy to customize and fit our billing workflow needs,” said Dr. Blazejowski. “But we were even more pleased to have found a group that understood physicians and the healthcare environment as well as they knew the software.”

GMS went live with DAS in July 2013. More than two years later, Dr. Blazejowski continues to find satisfaction in his experience as a client, explaining that, “DAS has been with us every step of the way, from overseeing each stage of our implementation to day-to-day support to assisting our providers with Meaningful Use and PQRS reporting each year. We know they have other clients, but they never make us feel that way. They’re always there for us.”

GMS is a 50-provider Primary Care group with over 300 staff across Tampa Bay. GMS is a former GE client.
