It's more than technology. They help protect our business model & revenue cycle.

The physicians at GMS were admittedly reluctant about making the leap to EHR, waiting for the right time, system and partner to intersect before committing to transition more than 300 staff members across 17 offices.

They evaluated a number of systems, including GE Centricity and Allscripts Professional. Having learned of DAS’ reputation for outstanding service, they invited the team to propose a relationship that would satisfy their need for simple clinical workflows, hands-on support and most importantly, clear understanding of and assistance with their billing and financial workflows.

In addition to meeting those needs, DAS tailored a relationship for GMS, including free ongoing training classes, one-on-one Meaningful Use & PQRS reporting assistance, critical lab integrations, patient portal and more.

Confident that they had found their partner, GMS began their implementation in July 2013. “We didn’t include any expectation of government incentive money as part of our decision or ROI calculation, and frankly didn’t really expect to see any of that money. However, DAS had our entire group live in time to meet Meaningful Use deadlines in 2013 (a $300,000+ return just in that year), all the while keeping the emphasis on protecting our business model and revenue cycle, which was critical,” said GMS President Mark Weissman, MD. “For a group of our size, this is an ongoing, sometimes challenging journey, and DAS continues to stick with us and support us as Health IT users and healthcare providers.”

GMS is a 50-provider Primary Care group with over 300 staff across Tampa Bay. GMS is a former GE client.
