Tampa, Fla., Oct. 01, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — DAS Health, an industry leader in health IT and management, announced today it completed the acquisition of two Aurora, IL based digital health companies, M E Computer Systems, LLC and MECS Billing Services, LLC. The companies are two of three concurrent acquisitions by DAS Health in the past month. The third included the purchase of the Aprima® EHR book of business from CriticalKey, LLC, a Chicago-based consulting, software and management services company.
These acquisitions significantly expand the DAS Health footprint across the United States, and specifically within the greater Chicago metropolitan area. As a result, DAS Health has now added a Chicago regional office that will create opportunities for greater regional support, adding to their Las Vegas, NV regional office and Tampa, FL headquarters.
“Over the past 25 years, our mission has been to provide exceptional support and services to our clients and partners,” stated Ed Carlson, Founder & CEO of M E Computer Systems, who will be retiring. “DAS Health was the perfect fit to ensure that success continues into the future.”
With this addition, DAS Health’s size nearly doubles to well over 1,000 clients located throughout 47 states, and it solidifies their position as one of the largest resellers of Aprima®, eMDs, Medisoft and Lytec Practice Management and EHR solutions. These notable acquisitions are part of DAS Health’s buy-and-build strategy that was recently accelerated by a multi-million dollar credit facility through Fifth Third Bank (see https://dashealth.com/partnership-video).
“We have now completed eight significant transactions in the past three years, and four this year alone” said David Schlaifer, DAS Health President and CEO. “These acquisitions advance our growth strategy, increase our client diversification, strengthen our vendor partnerships, and most importantly, provide opportunities for our new and existing clients to deliver better patient outcomes.”
The value proposition for DAS Health’s new and existing clients is robust, as its award-winning offerings include EHR software sales, support and hosting, managed IT services, security risk assessments, MIPS/MACRA reporting & consulting, mental & behavioral health screenings, chronic care management, revenue cycle management (RCM) and other value-based care solutions.

Industry Leader in Health IT and Management is Among Top 3.5% to Rank Seven Times Consecutively
Tampa, FL, Aug. 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — DAS Health, the Tampa-based industry leader in health IT and management, has been ranked on the Inc. 5000 List of the nation’s fastest growing companies for the 7th year in a row. This is a remarkable accomplishment, as only a fraction of companies have made the list twice, and only 3.5% of companies ranked have made the list seven or more times.
The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses. Microsoft, Dell, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.
DAS achieved over 180% growth in just the last 3 years. “Our rapid growth has resulted in seven consecutive years on this prestigious list and is attributed to our strategic and unmatched position in the Health IT and management sector,” said David Schlaifer, President and CEO. “Through our relentless focus on client success and exceptional service, we have become an essential solution for physician offices nationwide.”
For an extraordinary seventh year in a row, DAS Health has been named among the Inc. 500|5000 fastest-growing private companies in America. The Tampa-based health IT and management services provider, DAS Health rose in their rank to 2,402 on this years’ list. This is a remarkable accomplishment as DAS is a part of a mere 3.5% that have made the list seven times. See the full 2018 Inc. 5000 list here.
Making the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s annual List of the 50 fastest-growing private companies is a feat in and of itself. But only one Tampa company has made the list for nine consecutive years.
DAS Health is a health care information technology and management company based in Tampa. You can read more about the company in the Fast 50 coverage within.
CEO David Schlaifer said the results are based on the company’s mission to be as successful as possible in its market, which is fundamentally independent physicians.
“Health care expenses continue to rise at an alarming rate,” he said. “Physicians’ practices have taken it in the shorts and our job is to help protect them and make them profitable and make them as successful as possible as they are the backbone of our health care delivery system.”
A client retention rate north of 97 percent is also a big factor, with clients buying DAS services and then soliciting the company to add on to that and help with more, Schlaifer said.
The other piece is internal.
“I don’t do a great job of hiring senior talent but we have been very successful at hiring lower- and mid-level management and fostering their growth and leadership,” he said. “We’re tough on people intentionally because it makes them the best they can be so they can grow and thrive.”
Schlaifer encourages his employees to “fail in the right way,” he said. “We don’t want to repeat the same mistake. But if you are not failing you are not really trying. We have a culture of allowing and sometimes celebrating the failure.”
