ELECTRONIC DATA INTERCHANGE (“EDI”) ADDENDUM

All terms not defined herein shall have the meaning ascribed to them in the DAS Standard Incorporated Terms and Conditions.

Electronic Data Interchange (“EDI”) - If the executed COF includes EDI in any form, the following additional terms and conditions apply:

  1. EDI Services must be purchased for all of Client’s billing Providers, or none. EDI Services must be purchased for a minimum of one year, and may be adjusted only on the Renewal Date (as specified in a COF). The number of EDI Providers is subject to audit and penalty for understatement (See Section 23 of the Terms).
  2. DAS will use reasonable commercial efforts to provide access to the EDI Claims Clearinghouse then in effect through DAS for each billing Provider for which EDI payment has been received (additional fees apply);
  3. Client shall maintain a permanent, complete and accurate record of all claims transmitted via EDI Clearinghouse services, including the number of claims per transmission and the total dollar amount of each transmission. It is the responsibility of Client to ensure that claims are filed and received by payer within payer’s prescribed time limit for filing. Any vendor reports detailing claims transmission are not evidence of payer’s receipt of such claims.
  4. Unless otherwise stated on the COF, for all EDI transactions in excess of 500 claims, 500 remittances, or 500 eligibility checks, PPPM will be billed per transaction as an Additional Charge at then current rates. 
  5. Client acknowledges and agrees that insurance payers may sometimes indirectly pass on minimal additional fees to DAS (“Pass-Through Fees”) and that DAS may in turn bill Client for Pass-Through Fees.
